A poem/song inspired by Thousand Years

Up in the Clouds

If I cried a thousand tears, would you come back?

If you grew wings, would you use them to fly down to me?

Down to where we belong together forever

You said that I shouldn’t follow

But since when do I listen to you

If I could have one wish

Under these very stars

It would be to be up in the clouds with you

It’s too late, you’ve already sprouted the angel’s wings

I just want you back

I never got to say goodbye

So if I cried a thousand tears, would you come back?

I see your blood pouring out and I say hang in there

Can’t help myself, I want you here

Cause I forgot to say goodbye….

This resonated very deeply with me and I think it's sad but beautiful because sadness inspires hope which has a strength like fire...like a forest fire that burns past sorrows up into ash, the future food of a new forest. And then the love that was once alive is born again in another form that is different yet recognized by attentive eyes. That is proof of the power of faith that each short and dark night has an even longer and brighter day which follows. I like the part "If I could have one wish/Under these very stars" because I think if you ask the stars out of love you shall receive. There is a Native American proverb I'm reminded of here that goes... "The soul would have no rainbow if the eyes had no tears." So I think it is beauty that blooms out of expressing sadness and everything has it's place, it's reason for being- everything. Also in physics there is a rule which states energy doesn't die it only changes form so in a way I think we can and are together forever, full circle, above and below.... "If you grew wings, would you use them to fly down to me?" Eventually we all meet again. I love it. I wouldn't change a thing. I think it's perfect the way it is!!! :-)
