Who Was I

Who Was I

A Poem by Emmy J.M. Powell

who am I
who am I to make
such a decision

her life seemed smaller than mine
but we took up the same space

(quite literally) we shared a bed

who am I to make
such a decision

was she oblivious to it all
or did she know what I knew

I suppose
cats are funny that way
(enigmas)

who was I
to make such a decision

who was I

I sleep alone

The feeling you print on your poems is amazing! What happened to her? Was she ill?
