Pothos

Pothos

A Poem by Emmy J.M. Powell

I decided to sever my roots
and re-pot myself elsewhere
new town,
new job,
new apartment
for the first time in twenty years,
I will settle my seeds somewhere new
I am eager to spend this time away
from the people that have watered and trimmed me
Why aren't I scared?
Because I can grow anywhere
with a little water and sun
