Molten

Molten

A Poem by Emmy J.M. Powell

today,
I was selfish

wanted one more normal moment
sitting across from you

curse you
for picking a sunny booth,
because your irises turned
the most stunning shade
of amber gold

I felt weak

thieving long glances at you
because I was unsure
if I'd have the chance
to look again

and then I let you go
