Tongue Twisters

Tongue Twisters

A Poem by Emmy J.M. Powell

It never ceases to amaze me
that after any word rolls across your tongue for too long
it sounds foreign like it was never even a word at all

Maybe in this same manner
I can repeat your name over and over
and soon you will get out of my head
and back to wherever you came from
