Fridge Fullness

Fridge Fullness

A Poem by Emmy J.M. Powell

It never stops,
baffling me how,
easy it is to think,
that I have no reason,
to be sad,
when I mistake,
being sad for,
feeling empty.

How desperate,
am I to try to feel full,
when food is all,
that I think about?

I try so hard,
to fill up my chest,
with the contents,
of my stomach,
and I am too ashamed,
to ask for someone,
to help me feel full.
