Revolute

Revolute

A Poem by Emmy J.M. Powell

It’s frightening,
to put your love,
towards someone else,
because it’s incredibly,
frightening to adore,
something that isn’t,
a part of you but,
you wish it were,
and you find yourself,
driving all the way,
across town to the,
Italian restaurant because,
you know it’s their favorite,
and slowly but surely,
your world begins to revolve,
around them and they,
become the epitome of,
the sun but you know,
that a solar system,
would burn up trying,
to revolute around something,
as bright as them.
