Free verse

Put your ear to the earth I know you hear it, the carnage the terror the screams, they don't fall on deaf ears do they? Should you put down that distraction, that artists thought or should you embrace it like a warm blanket of safety from the bitter cold that it hides in or should you look for the cause of this pain, a pain we will all feel at one time or another. Do I have the courage to choose to feel it for someone else?

I can't define this other than I wrote what I was feeling at the moment. I tend to ask myself questions and rarely get the answers. Maybe thats what this is? Oops I did it again.

We all use distractions to avoid what we dont want to see, but can it ever truly be called life if we cocoon ourselves away from the realities, avoiding unpleasantness. Are we living life or merely participating? If we all live in cocoons, who will help when danger shows? Or do we all just get by on our own, distracting ourselves that it will all be okay?
I myself, like to live dangerously and hopefully would help if I heard someone in trouble, but would they hear me?
I like your observations and thoughts on the simplest of questions being the most difficult to answer.

I think we all feel the pain, sorrow and suffering that goes on in our world. We need to stand up and make positive change so we can feel safe and happy living on this planet! Good poem!

Do I have the courage to choose to feel it for someone else - often times this is really what it all comes down to, doesn't it. It takes a lot of courage. Well done.
