Canvas of Life

Canvas of Life

A Poem by Freak-En-Stine
"

A poem about life, it's battles, scars, pain and our attempt at faux perfection

"
Perfect?
Far from it
My life is like a canvas
of skin stretched on the frame
of an ailing human skeleton
With curves and scars
of the numerous battles
it survived,
Separation of dear ones
Exploitation by loved ones
it withstood
And shrouding the pain
with a wounded smile
Equally painful
like a body covered in art
of painful tattoos hiding scars
with fake cheerful colors
covering the darkened dismay
leaving a permanent stain
on the wounded mind body & soul
while the onlookers
admire the faux perfection
veiling the obvious truth,
- "Wonderful".

Good poem- slightly disjointed/confusing, but with good imagery.
