The Goodnight Kiss

In the darkness of the star lit sky,

I awake from my dreams 

And walk with you awhile

In the moonlight of our reality...

On the fringe of our worlds...

Together yet alone. 

Distance so far away 

Yet so near that

I can almost feel your breath

Lingering on my neck

Arousing the sensuality of

My body so eager for your touch.

Saying goodnight only leaves

Me awake with thoughts

Too vivid to be dreams.

I wonder if you have now slept

And where your dreams shall take you

Before you greet the coming dawn.

I count the hours till your return

To once again breath of your breath

Imagine together within our hearts 

As I taste the liquid of your body vapor 

Inhaling its intoxicating scent..

If only from memories  that arise 

Deep within the recess of my mind.

This, as always, is an amazing piece of poetry. I love how you don't feel the need to fall into rhyme, letting the words just speak themselves straight from your soul. There's a deep connection, as if we're getting the frayed ends of the thread of your innermost thoughts, hinting at the deep fabric of your soul. I have to say though, that this was my favorite line: "Saying goodnight only leaves / Me awake with thoughts / Too vivid to be dreams."

I really connected with those lines and they had a wonderful, natural flow that really made it stand out, thrusting me into the sensuality of the rest of the poem. A great poem, all around. Sensual, sweet, melancholy, and yet complex. Thanks for sharing this, it was a pleasure to read ^^ As always, I'm an avid fan.

I tried to do rhyme wasn't me...I pour my words directly from my heart and soul. I like having ardent fans ...in fact I like having any fans so Thank you again for strolling over to my corner of the world to sit and read my thoughts.

lol Its my pleasure. And I love that feeling, as well. For me, things tend to just come out rhyming. I never try and force it. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. I've never really sat and tried to think of words that rhyme with other words before. I just kind of type it all out as I go, letting the words pick themselves. I know that probably doesn't make a bit of sense lol

I just find it great that some ppl's hearts speak one way, and others speak another. Like your heart and soul speaks without rhyme, but with wonderful imagery and profound words. Mine speaks with rhyme. It shows how unique and special we all are.

I lived in San Antonio. All my gf's were hispanic. Yeah, I can salsa. Its ridiculously fun and probably one of the sexiest dances out there, if you ask me.

Dreams..they can be a wonderul place to go. A place where our passion, love, desire, and sometimes our lives exist. They can make things feel "right". I've spent many hours in this wonderful world as well. It doesn't always make the world we live in a better place but we need it as much as it needs us.
