Journey of a raindrop

Journey of a raindrop

A Poem by soumya

I was formed high in the sky

In the womb of a pregnant cloud

“You’ll blossom with a purpose”

The god up there vowed.

I dropped on a bright green leaf

As the twinkling sun shined on me

And started rolling down with the sheaf

Of the Divination’s foreboding decree

From one leaf to another I rolled

With thoughts of the purpose I held

My journey the Divinity controlled

As into bigger entities I meld

My odyssey continued on and on

Till in my heart restlessness grew

It was then I began to question

The aimless wanderings hitherto

Then the summer dazzled

And moved me from earth to sky

With alacrity I noticed

I was again able to fly

And then I reflected back

On the travails of my destiny

The lives I touched in the course

Of my insignificant journey

The tiny seed I touched soft

Bloomed into full life

How could I ever have thought….

Mine is a meaningless strife???

I’m a creation of God

Worthless I cannot be,

 I believe the truth unfold

That the Almighty resides in me…
