3A/1 The government bus

It was as usual a sunny morning where I had to go khidderpore for buying things my father asked me to purchase  before which I had to meet him. I was running really late and had no option other than to take a bus numbered 3a/1 which is now known as S3B.

As soon as I got up in this bus suddenly I went back to class 8 where everyday @7 I used to board  this bus to go to school. That same seat keeping , that same govt employees making fun at that time of the morning  even after so much hard work and there were this senior citizens who didn’t care about there age  let the youngsters sit and this disable person who may be cant even work properly let the old seat as a matter of respect and all this went in the first half of the bus there were new era private official people talking amongst each other or most of them exploring their phone and even new people feeling awkward and few listening to songs at the back or the second half of the bus.

You see its been like more than a year I left using this bus. Its been a year  and the bus has changed so many drivers and even the conductors and most importantly the bus design.

As I entered the bus going in front standing just beside the handicapped seat (which is in the right side of the bus) and as usual the bus was full of people. I being honest actually did pull off my ear plugs as i entered the bus and went inside started noticing people around me. I felt as if I belong here and not on the scooter or car I drive back and forth.

The driver at  the very front of the bus was enjoying chai and talking to the old conductor I remember from my school days and a passenger. Then there werew these government official passengers few keeping their handkerchief just to jeep seat for another though they all know each other and now they all made so much fun, few talking about their household chores and others talking about their work and the politics and even few criticzing newspaper with reality and all this was going on the left side of the bus. On the right where I was standing there were only 4 seats were this old people were their and a women and even people sitting behind the small space of the drivers seat. The women who was kind of mf middle aged women stood up to give a seat to the recently got up old man. I didn’t really notice the back side of the bus as it was never so interesting for me. As soon as the bus was going to start the driver or popularly known as dada took his seat and all the passengers who went to have chai came inside now the people who kept seat for this chai drinking people took the seat   instead of them and they all started shouting and criticing and even some using slangs but trust me they all were kidding and all other passengers  started laughing as if they all know each other and they all were a part of the joke. then as i waited for for the bus to get a bit light this man from the very next stoppage which was thana came up. i could cleary say by looking at him that the had nerve problem throughout his body which made him shiver every second and this man came up to the handicapped seat where this middle aged man was sitting and he let him sit and between this process the old man (near 70) asked me to sit instead of such problem he had which didn't even permit him to stand properly. i obviously made him sit and i was so happy (tbh i am having tears ) when he said ma( affectionate word of daughter for bengalis) please give me your bag. i was so glad out of his gesture. i said no but he insisted on taking it . i was so happy and the this another women came up and he even took her bag and finally said " i am occupying a seat and making a person stand for me and i can atleast have do  this much to help out people standing in this heat in such a packed bus".
you know this bus is the only bus where i see all this affection. there are these people making fun and without any knowledge bringing smile to all our faces and this old man with such big heart and even others are there who are helping each other out making each other as much comfortable as much possible and people of old or senior citizens whom we call are so comfortable to talk to. but let me also tell you no passenger in that bus knows each other. there is something about that bus some mystery which one can understand only if you get comfortable in such heat and be happy and get mixed with them. you actually just cannot judge people. you gotta be the same and be one all in all. don't try to be on of them be you be natural and just blend in. people reading this if you ever get up in this bus first and then want to realise what i am saying then please get up a private bus like 37 or 12C/1 and go few stoppages you'll understand the difference yourself. and trust me you'll love getting into this govt bus rather than the private ones.
