My wish come true ~Chapter 1~

A Chapter by Aria K.

Odelia :

"Odelia?.. Odelia dear are you all right?" asked Dr. Thurs-ton , my therapist, while I was lost in thought , trying to find an answer to her question. "Odelia honey I will ask one last time , why do you feel like there is something missing from your lie". The truth was, nothing was missing . My name is Odelia Antoinette Roosevelt, I come from an aristocratic family. My mother and father supply me with everything. We live in  a ridiculously over-sized mansion, with a pool , a tennis court an indoor pool, our own cinema, a personal trainer, a chef , a few maids , a butler, a horse stable,  a vineyard and our own driver. To an outsider my life seems perfect a, as if I am living a dream, but honestly the thing I want most is to have a normal life without all these extras.
"Odelia honey how about you give me that answer tomorrow? Give you some time to think about it!" the sound of her voice bringing me back to reality . "Yes Dr. Thurs-ton that would be a good idea" I walked out the building to find my driver waiting for me. I had no choice but to get in the car and go home after the long and exhausting day.I didn't realize then  but but the next time I would see my therapist  would be in a year. My life was about to change .
                                  ***
At dinner that evening mother was sat at one end of the table and father at the other far end leaving me somewhere in the middle . As every evening we would exchange meaningless conversation about the weather and poetry. Lately we haven't been getting on, because I have dropped out of London's finest boarding school for young ladies, and returned home to Washington DC, in hope of going to a public high school with normal boys and girls, but so far my parents are mad and disappointed in me, as they believe that a lady from such a wealthy family should have the best possible education and manners.
Finally I decided to break the ice. "So I got an e-mail this morning from the high school I asked to go to , and they sent me my schedule ". I looked at both my parents, feeling something warming up inside me. Had they really let me go to high school?
"I take it you wont be needing your boarding school outfit anymore, will you dear? " said my mother.
"Mum , dad thank you so much" just as I was about to get up and give them a hug my father motioned me to sit down, and he started what felt like a never ending monologue.
"Now Odelia, me and your mother have allowed you to go to the school of your choice, but in return, we would like you to have perfect grades. In school you must be good and respectful. I shall not allow you to interact with the wrong people , overall we would like to hear the best about your behavior and manners. Do I make myself clear Odelia?" Even though my father was overreacting  I couldn't help but show the happiness I felt inside me. "Of course father, your wish is my command ". And on that note I went to my room to prepare myself for the following  morning .
That night I couldn't sleep, I was so excited yet nervous. I had never been to a school in which the students were ordinary folk. The schools I was used to were filled with kids from aristocratic families , but compare to them , I was much different. I was always the sporty, casual girl that didn't really act prim and proper like all the other girls . But finally I would fit in with everyone else.

This chapter...

The dialog of the parents seems a bit awkward. The diction deviates from what an American reader might expect after being exposed to "high-society speak" via movies and/or regional areas of high-income populations; assuming one has experience in such circles.

mechanics & 2nd-takes:
- "I didn't realize then but but .."
- "mother was sat .."
- ""Now Odelia, me and your mother..."
- "but compare to them.."
