Unaccomplished

Unaccomplished

A Poem by Christian-Marie
"

This poem is about a person who tries to make someone perfect when they're not.

"
I held you closely,
Afraid you'll leave.
I held your hand smoothly,
Afraid you'll let go.

I brushed your hair back gently,
Hoping you would stay.
I closed your eyelids asleep.
Hoping you wouldn't awake.

You never spoke back,
And that's why I loved you.
And people would laugh,
But I never knew why.

I went to look at old photos,
But there was no one next to me.
And then I remembered,
You're nothing but my imagination.

Someone I wanted.
Someone I wanted perfect.

Made me feel lonely. Poem started with the desire of care and consideration. Then you told us in your words. Brought us to the knowledge the person is alone in the poem. A interesting poem.
