UnaccomplishedA Poem by Christian-MarieThis poem is about a person who tries to make someone perfect when they're not.
I held you closely,
Afraid you'll leave. I held your hand smoothly, Afraid you'll let go. I brushed your hair back gently, Hoping you would stay. I closed your eyelids asleep. Hoping you wouldn't awake. You never spoke back, And that's why I loved you. And people would laugh, But I never knew why. I went to look at old photos, But there was no one next to me. And then I remembered, You're nothing but my imagination. Someone I wanted. Someone I wanted perfect. © 2009 Christian-MarieAuthor's Note
