The King of Hearts: A Hymn for the Heartless: ACT II "The loss"

My mind is racing, it's pacing at the thought.
I try to forget, but forget I cannot.
It's like a systematic chaos;
A structured insanity.
It's like a hidden gem,
Layered under my flesh among other rotten things.
It's on a million mile race for the door.
It's a thought I cannot forget,
And a face I cannot remember.
Why is this so hard?
Why am I so easy to control?
It wasn't supposed to be this way.
It should have been the other way around.
But this is the way it was, and will stay fractured.
This is the way it was frayed, and will stay broken.
A million pieces scattered across the floor.
A million pieces that could never fit together.
A never ending struggle for unity.
A slave to it's own morals.
Well I think it's morals are shhh!
Why can't I just forget it.
Why won't you let me forget it.
It's over.
It's been over.
It's gone.
But it will never end.
And we will never be the same..
My heartless cadaver is left empty to rot on it's thrown.
I am the King of Hearts-
I am - Alone-

Author's Note

Sorry Sits Here
I wrote 5 poems at separate times in my life. One day I realized when added together they created a wonderful Story about a man who had found true love only to have it ripped away. This caused a change in the man, just as he had lost his true love he begins to lose his mind as well. As he dwells deeper and deeper into his own insanity he realizes several small truths about his life and his humanity. However the lessons learned were learned far too late and the story inevitably ends in tragedy.

P.S. Unfortunately all these poems were lost in a notebook several years ago.

wow i mean wow..well written well put together, this is the second? I suppose I should have read the first, first but this was the one that caught my eye for some odd reason. A King of Hearts all alone, interesting, you'd think that a king of hearts would have all hearts around him. But I suppose that its like being rich, you can have all the money in the world and still be the poorest person alive.
Well written indeed. bravo.
