Scent of the past

Scent of the past

A Poem by Soren

Hollyhocks, snapdragons, Chanel No 5, pine
The scent of yesterday peels off today's walls
A smell that ghosts enshrine
Memory's bent echo calls

Air filled with fragrances yet to come
The smell of anxiety and anticipation
Turning time's page with a thumb
The last lingering odor of reservation

Is quite rare these days for scent to lure the way towards a scene intended to enhance and attract, yet we humans are set in a world of positive and negative odours just as we are by colours. For me this could be unique in a time of neon allure.
