Broken toys

Broken toys

A Poem by Soren

Ice cream boats on lemonade seas, candy angels in an orange blossom breeze
From a child's eyes it looked this way
But soon the wise were telling me the world was not what I see
No more magic in the night or day
Steal your eyes poison your brain schooled to be insane
Given a stencil of what to say
Growing old on a pill, told when you are ill
Oh to return to that innocent way

The innocence of childhood is always short-lived. When the rose-coloured glass come off it’s a rude awakening. Great piece of writing as always.

I remember the Good Humor Ice Cream man...coming around neighborhoods in NYC ringing his bell and all the kids heard it and rushed to be first on line!!! Those were the fun and innocent days..fortunately, those carefree days are over....and now we are face with many complex problems, some of them unsolvable....
some of them just unpleasant....NICE!
