Word of rocks

Word of rocks

A Poem by Soren

Out of reach, fading away
Fingers close on sunset end of day
Clawing scars on water's skin
Closing wounds where they had been

Oiled time, housefly love
Sun's shadow nailed to the sky above
Handcuffed wind prisoner, in a box
No fish or bird as slippery as a word thrown of rocks

Sometimes things slip through are fingers like moss covered rocks.

There are many stunning lines in this poem. I enjoyed the line about wounds closing and the last line sums up this poem perfectly. This had a slightly ethereal feel yet earthy as well.

Well penned, you’re so right words are magical things with powers we don’t always grasp. Words can bring one back from the dead or put one six feet under.

You don't have to be religious to enjoy poetry where ever it is Bible, Quran, Vedas what ever

I fully agree with that viewpoint my friend
and then one more rock finds its mark, and the wound is reopened.
Words have the power to heal but also the power to kill....Emily D. thought that.

The second stanza is shades of Good Friday. Right now we all seem to prisoners and nailed to some cross...one of our own making.
