Mist

Mist

A Poem by Soren

A slithering fog with cottony stealth envelopes the sleeping trees constricting the forest in its undulating misty grasp.
It swallows colors  covering fragrances in a shed  scale vapor of dewdrop trails.
Engorged and satiated it crawls up the mountainside to sleep until awakened by the hunger of another day.

very creepy stuff. really feeds on the fear of the unseen, unknown. a mist is indeed blanketing whole of the earth. the unpreictabilty, the uncertainty of the world - regarding politics, economics, or society. and in this mist we feel alone. and in our loneliness, even more fears arise. fears that are individual, whether it is death or abandonment or something else.
i liked how the text allowed the reader to intepret on their own. that they read about a mist and their subconscious minds fill in the blanks. the text was very well written, descriptive and infused with angst.
