Condemned

Condemned

A Poem by Soren

Tangled wire hair, plastic skulls slump, empty promises
Old electric brain dump, a sign reading "place condemned"
Tied in hypnotic beds, lie cracked mirrors reflecting Adonises
Fractured holes, broken heads we no longer mend

Batteries bleed, evolutionary ancestor of solid state brains
Keys weeds breed, ancient technology brought to die
Worshiped discarded gods, decomposing remains
Graveyard sarcophagus pods, time frozen fossils evolved AI

Cold, heartless progeny birthed from the discarded
Sold as electric phylogeny no regard for the departed

no regard, no feeling, everything in the most distant third person.
That is what we have become...human existence condemned to become extinct.
We need to have a requiem mass for the soul of humanity.

You are too kind Ashi and I most humbly appreciate your comment
it's very scary. with many strong consonants and long words, it creates a world that is foreboding. thematically, it is also quite unsettling. decay, and the end of some kind of era. perhaps the past world was not perfect but this new epoch might just be worse.
