Give and take

Give and take

A Poem by Soren

To give me warmth you tore planks from your wall
Built me fire from your comfort
In cold winds of winter gave me your coat and shawl
Warmed by your discomfort
Nothing to eat, you gave me a spoon of kindness
Gave me grains from time's sand pile
A star's compass for my blindness
With nothing left, you gave me your smile

I'm not a "Believer" as such, but I marvel at the times when I most needed a hand, and there was always someone or something there. This speaks to me :)

This is a beautiful poem saying somebody giving their last source of warmth and food to another despite being cold and hungry. Give respect, take respect back. "With nothing left, you gave me your smile." Truely the best line. Good work!
