She

She

A Poem by Soren

I met her when I was just a child
Although she was younger, she was far older
She birthed me from her water wild
No hand of man could hold her

Dressed in rags she shivered from cold
Her purse an empty sack
From it fell words of gold
With a smile she would not take back

Poured her visions into me
With river of her blood, washed me white
Took scales from my eyes so I could see
Suckled me through my fight

She traded my noose for a kiss’ shower
Cleansed my wound with beams of sun
Reaching out from her wooden tower
Lifting me beyond where dreams had begun

You seem to express here the point that there are many types of poverty and hunger. And not all of them are satisfied by gold. An interesting read. F.

this work goes in a much more personal direction. there is some memory, although maybe not a distinct one, maybe memories have gotten confused and several people have taken on one form. but this She is clearly somethign the writer holds dear. 'She traded my noose for a kiss’ shower,' he owes his life to her. yet there is a lot of mystery as well as kindness from her:
Her purse an empty sack
From it fell words of gold
With a smile she would not take back
this bewitching tale of this unknown woman, or feminine spirit, is captivating. but she remains the key to something that is almost the meaning of life.
