Nursery mantra

Nursery mantra

A Poem by Soren

I cradle myself in maternal arms
With paternal strength, a shield from all harms
Held in the only heart that cares
A beggar hand out for alm’s wares

Round around the Mulberry bush
The monkey pulled the weasel did push
Mary’s lamb became a ram
And the three little pigs for the wolf a ham

Parents have special care towards us...
The lines are touching while the second santza seems contrasting..what goes around around will come around..like all the sacrifice.... or the monkey wolf piggy weasel playing around the bush 😅 can't imagine in real life....
Nice though provoking write.. but hands are tied to help someone for long, the more you try to lose or pull out it just gets stronger... only time can unwind...

Held by my Mother, my Father's strength protects me from harm.
Treasured in a special heart that cares,

The meaning of the song "The Mulberry Bush" is
much debated with one theory linking the origins of the song to HMP Wakefield, where female prisoners exercised around a mulberry tree in the moonlight. Another theory is it refers to Britain's attempts to produce silk in the 18th and 19th centuries.
"Pop Goes The Weasel". In this rhyme "weasel" means "coat" and "pop" is about pawning possessions. Many think that the rhyme is about some of the weavers who lived and worked in an area of east London called Spitalfields.
Sad to read that Mary's Little Lamb ended up as ham for The Three Little Pigs!
Today, the meaning escapes me, dear Soren in this adult metaphor of the lovely childhood rhymes. Please forgive me, dear friend.
Enjoyed trying to analyse your words very much, and enjoyed reading your gripping poem. Thank you for sharing, dear Soren...
