Infinity

How long is forever, it ends never a title for a song

passion driven, a vow given, truth once so strong

I was wrong, its promise withdrawn  

given as a word, concept absurd, nothing lasts that long 

Eternity, a small piece of infinity, dissolves in the fog of nothing

divinities' affinity to the purity of obscurity, zero to omega touching

a slap a kiss, neither miss, emptieness clutching

day into night, blackness into light becoming

Added, subtracted nothing detracted, value never changed

beginning and end, your mind will bend with thoughts deranged

neither comming or going not growing, can't be arranged

in regard to love nothing below or above with which it can be interchanged

Wow! What an amazing provocative and very inspiring write, dear Soren. As I understand it, but I am totally open to being incorrect, Infinity is when something goes on forever and Eternity is specifically when time goes on forever, In other words, eternity is an infinity of time. So true you have percieved a detail often overlooked. Yet we say forever in vows and contracts that are often broken so is this forever? I so appreciate your views on these scribbles and at times you open my eyes.

Most welcome always, dear Soren. We say forever in vows etc and while deeply meant at the time, through our human frailties they are broken. Like love, forever is a word that is bandied about a lot. Humans use the word to convey the depth of their love, but human beings are fickle and change their minds and then, it would seem forever is only for as long as the love lasts rather than loving a person beyond the limitless limits of Infinity. Only sharing my thoughts with you, Soren and hoping you can make sense of them, dear friend...

i'm a Buddhist, and we are told that the cycle birth and death, existence and non-existence can continue forever. but inifinte is a concept i simply can't wrap my head around. it just doesn't make sense. i again felt a sense of awe and bewilderment while reading this.

Thank you Ern yes I love Buddhist thought and the cycle makes sense to me. As for infinity well I guess one has to to the greatest philosiphy math and ask why infinity to the power of zero equalls one.
