Night's soliloquyA Poem by SorenOh sweet night with your promise of slumber bringing dreams of past child wonder Let life's blazing sun nestle in his cloud covered bed pulling over head, blankets of umber Should dew drop tears reflect your fears be quieted by night's mist covered lullaby Sleep deep, from dream's Elysian fields reap conscience's cornucopia supply From the grave of night should dawn be reborn on shores of a distant morn will new days cutting rays sting less than yesterday's thorn? Will chains past be off cast, freed from memories forlorn or like Oedipus, gouge out eyes under distant skies, despising the day born?
