HalloweenA Poem by Soren It is the season which is the reason this tale I'll tell Was a night full of fright I remember well For fun kids did come on the run, looking for candy's spell Skinny and small fat and tall, each in a costume shell A jack-o-lantern lit, flames did spit, from the dark appeared a tiny child Alone, with no one grown, timidly held out a crippled hand so mild Asked where was his mother or brother he just stood quiet and smiled Then turned his back disappeared into black with his sack of candy piled The next group was a family troop that knocked on the door The kids were glad but the mother looked sad, so I asked her what for She said her youngest had died, then she cried, he had been only four Of his hand maimed he was ashamed but sweets and Halloween he did adore
