Each step we take we leave an imprint behind

All we touch we leave a mark

On this earth our signature signed

Where hand or foot we park

With heavy burden we sink deep

On rock no mark is found

Rain from those that weep

Fill these holes in the ground

The last stanza is very interesting. Almost like triumphs often pale in comparison to the imprinted regrets left along the ground we live on. Very very good!

Yes, we leave imprints behind on the earth, on the people we meet, on the lives we touch. Some burdens are heavy and difficult to carry, without help we sink into the quicksand of life. Loved ones weep into the grave, but I can't help but wonder what they did to help the person they now cry for, when that person was alive. Perhaps, they cry with regret for standing idly by and doing nothing? A very poignant write, finely inked and expressed. Thought provoking and simultaneously insightful too.
