This is an inner method for turning the other cheek. It is much to be preferred to fierce squabbling or physical violence. Of course, if the other guy is a hulking sociopath, it might be good to have your Glock with you.

Thanks John for the read and understanding words they are deeply valued.
Juliet was right...they do smell the same by any other name.
But yes, so much political correctness can drive us insane.
And I really think you should give the purses back, Soren. Not your clever lines of poetry, but the purses.

Why are people so cruel? Little children in the playground, some taught at home by parents who have no right to be parents? Why so free with words that could set the world into sunlight but instead, make filth of sensitive spirits and hearts.. 'Sticks and stones' - those words read like snakes in the grass with the cruellest reason - they hurt like hell. And are intended to - and, leave scars. Your words make fine poetry of a foul topic. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

So agreed that the world would be a better place if people were loving and accepting, tolerant of others but this seems so far away. Let us be kind to ourselves and take care of what we can. So very glad you stopped by and commented your words as always are deeply valued.
I absolutely love how you depict name calling which was so prevalent when I was growing up. Older people then had a terrible habit of sticking a label on someone whom they didn't like and the most offensive name one could be called was a Tinker (a gypsy). They were so despised and looked down on, bless them. It is haunting to look back on those times, dear Soren and remember. Thank God, those awful days are now in the past and I pray they never appear in the future. So much hurt and sadness back then. I love the advice you so kindly give your reader. It is precious! Thank you for writing on this topic, Soren and for sharing it. It is a succinct gem, a reminder to us to watch not just our words, but our thoughts too. Love it! Great write...

Yes name calling is still a problem for some and I have to apologize to the vultures, pigs, dogs and chickens for my comparing them to people, that in many cases are worse than they.
