Chuang Tzu was a famous Chinese philosopher and poet. A loose translation of one of his poems is:
The easy is right start with what's right and everything will be easy
Continue with the easy and everything will be right
The right method to stay easy is to forget the right way
and forget that the flow is easy

There is no right way, no wrong way, the way is ours to discover, but when we go with the flow of life, life is easier to flow with/deal with.
When we swim against the flow of life, then we experience difficulties which can become insurmountable with the passing of time. It is like banging one's head off a stone wall. One can go nowhere until they get back into the flow of life again.
Like this insightful poem very much. Thank you for sharing, dear poet...

The salmon may only spawn by swimming against the current. Often ideological birth is the same. We must note that almost all intellectual and spiritual revelations have been met with great ridicule and chastisement. We have not quite mastered the art of "turning the other cheek" either. But more like the zealots of old, we burn witches at the stake. The Jews were made easy prey by their pacifism in the second world war. Nature sometimes belches its insides into the atmosphere and thus, we have volcanoes. Bruce Lee advised we be like water; taking the form from its surroundings and flowing over, between, through every opening and by doing so, eliminate the distance and all adversity. But water only flows downhill, it never rises against gravity except in ocean waves or evaporation. But those salmon...they feel the need to procreate and go home. So, go with the flow or swim against the current...what is right is what is right as Pope would say. Thanks for the thought invoking write. I enjoyed the read.

I am flattered that it provokes that much thinking. Yes this man believed that society, culture or the desire to achieve is destructive. My wife really hated his teachings. He is very much like Lao Tzu
