The dagger

From the daggers blow life's blood does flow

cuts deep wounds seep

Bright red bleeding dreams dead, into darkness go

What was once bright now night

Breath taken not to awaken

sleep will sweep all this out of sight

I agree that a good night's rest and sleep will help to solve many problems. We all die each night in the hope of resurrecting the next morning again. That hope is not fulfilled for everybody, sadly.
We can choose a lot of things in life, but nightmares are not one of them, they choose us instead and like ghosts, they vanish in the first light of day. A very intuitive write, succinct, with sharp visual detail which brings the poem to life for me. Amazing poetic creation, dear poet. Thank you for sharing...

Thank you my friend for this interpretation. Yes indeed Shakespeare pretty much said it all. Hard to believe that one man so long ago wrote so many things still remembered.
