Twilight man

Twilight man

A Poem by Soren

Out of dream time stepped a twilight man

awakened from under earth's blanket out of a pod

This revered spirit gave totemic ancestors to each clan

then returned as tree and rock, a slumbering god

As if out of clay he had molded man's race

from chips of humanity's block

In magical song each chant's note falls into place

with music of a mythical clock

To guide us back he left song lines

to man's two souls, a musical map

Here no life or death, follow roots and vines

to dream time in the circle of a never ending nap

A god woke up from beneath the earth, giving emblematic symbols to each family group before returning to sleep again within a tree.
Mankind created from mud, each sings notes to the beat of a magical metronome.
This God left a musical map in our souls to guide us back to eternity where there is no life or death in dreamtime, just a never ending sleep.
This God seems to have awakened humanity and given them guidelines for living until it was time for their never ending nap.
As always, superb metaphoric content. So much said in so few words, if only I could decipher them! Thank you for sharing this very masterful write, so skillfully penned, dear Soren...

Thank you so much, Soren...
"he took a hundred pounds of clay and made a life worth living"
Tree and rock...they might be slumbering but they are steady and always there.
Man needs to keep a consistent spirit...and hopefully leave that as his legacy.
