Unpardonable sin

Unpardonable sin

A Poem by Soren

Can't mend a broken glass

Cloth of conscience, red blends invade

Over shards of memories unable to pass

Wine's stain of spilled dreams will not fade

Last supper, a challis of wine

Kiss of forgiveness

Self pardon not divine

Salvation lies within us

Around Judas' neck burned marks

tied with guilt's rope

Put out the sun extinguish its nightly sparks

Blow out the candle of hope

The poem speaks to me of a hopelessness of things done, sins committed that can't be undone. The cloth of conscience is stained red. That's fantastic imagery Soren! I think that not self-pardon but a conscious effort to accept our follies and seek salvation is the only way to go. The last verse too had stark and awesome imagery. Especially, the first two lines, leading to the most terrifying darkness of fate that man has ever known.

Thanks Thomas I appreciate your visit
Living in troubled times seems the historical norm, with hope's place always in the balance.
Thankfully, it's in our DNA, hopefully it will spark the candle.
