Blind

Blind

A Poem by Soren

Rocks talk, rings echo in a pond,

obscuring ripples in the mind,

drips of silence fall beyond,

illumination's eye made blind

Eyes seeing through dark

Quiet thunder rolls

igniting lightning's spark

with hell's burnt out coals

Sunlight ashes exhausted glows

Drifting shadows pile high

dust through an hourglass flows

Shard cut broken sky

dark and sullen says i ... "illumination's eye made blind" for me a powerful line .. there is seeing and then there is "seeing" .. when guiding lights are darkness .. how very deep the darkness is .. (paraphrased from the Bible) so much that seems bleak in the world these days ... seems only to worsen :( ... i am grateful for the Hope i hold in my Faith .. God is good and has supernatural love for us .. we are not so good it seems ... we should get with His program instead of our own ... an inspiring write for me, Soren .. thanks for sharing
E.

Thank you so much for the gracious and kind review your reads are always appreciated.
The world of the sightless would come alive here...When illumination's eye turns blind, how hellish the dark shadows must seem, as they congregate. The imagery takes me to a timeless place, where the hourglass flows under a broken sky, I linger there in a somber mood. Beautifully sketched, dear Soren.

Shards cut a broken sky

This sounds like the hourglass has become empty and overturned and the shards have broken the sky for times has come to and end.

Love the elegant wording in this poem

You're welcome, Soren, and the wise words were yours :)
I like the "broken sky" and this makes me think of the one who created all of this...looking down and through everything there is that reacts when the sky rolls with storms.....which we are about to have today....Nice rhyming in this...you do that so easily....or it seems so.
