Sparrow

Sparrow

A Poem by Soren

I see a sparrow in the rain

Around itself, wings fold

but I sense its pain

It doesn't show it's cold

With it no gathering

No birds or feathers come,

just distant chattering

None care where it's from

It huddles on its own

Quiet not a sigh

Soaked to the bone

By itself it will fly

No review, and pardon for that- just a comment to say that I've found your use of the language compelling and engaging, across all of your pieces. You have a very... almost ancient tone in your writing. It is interesting. Thank you for your words.

Thanks for the comment
A powerful nature song, very well reality expressed.

This reminded me of a poem by D.H. Lawrence. “I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.” The poem is quoted in the movie, GI Jane by a drill instructor. But I understand your poem to be one of resolution and acceptance of the way things are or must be. I enjoyed reading your work.
