Ghost

I'm a ghost,

like smoke in the air, here then not there,

when needed most

I'm a fraud,

joy you had, now you're sad,

without a God

I'm a lie,

a memory distorted, a dream aborted,

a tear in your eye

I'm a spark

So quickly does go the ember's glow,

leaving you in the dark

Possibly this is a seasonal issue with things working out much better, closer to Halloween when Ghosts seem to fit in more smoothly??

It seems to me there is a touch of hostility in these lines. It is as though the speaker is saying I was yours and you let me go. On the other hand, this may be a confession of complicity in the breakup.
