Character

Character

A Poem by Soren

Mined with sweat, from common rock

Smelted in the fire of fortune

We cast future in the forge of our thoughts

Poured into the mold of our will

It cools and hardens in time's sand

Shaped by adversities hammer and anvil

Tempered in the blood of suffering

Sharpened on the whetstone of love and hate

It is polished with wisdom and care

With it we cut for good or ill

I like so much your descriptions of character and the many aspects it requires. All said with truth and understanding.
Character is foundational. Be blessed.

You are welcome sir Soren.
A good look at what character consists of here. True character is indeed shaped by adversity and tempered by suffering. When we are able to see the pains of life in this manner, we are evolving.

mining stone, gems, etc and cutting them is a laborious job...its stifles the mind because it is always the same thing over and over....it is a job of love and hate and the final product gives some sense of accomplishment..."We cut it for good or ill"...
