Deicide

Deicide

A Poem by Soren

Oh that I was a bird, to fly above the rain

far above the storm or in the eye of a hurricane

or that I were a tree, deeply rooted in the ground

drawing strength from the earth, where endless nutrients abound

Lo, but I am a man, set in between

I change what I can, asking God to intervene

I hunt the bird for nourishment and cut wood to warm me

Is not God nothing more, than the bird and the tree?

Well, Soren, you could opt to fry the vegetation of the ground on a gas fire, but then you'd be committing terracide. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
