Lazarus SunA Poem by SorenOrange blossoms Intoxicating, with angel trumpets so sedating, a butterfly, a painted leaf, dipping and floating in the oozing breeze, that plays the leaves, clapping so gently, in soft percussive reverberations, varying fluctuations, creation's symphony in harmony, flies droning, a bee's vibrato humming, cicadas in ostinato singing, morning birds in staccato with call and response ringing, a cricket's call, a waterfall, birds splashing, punctuated with rests and silent pauses, without causes, trees creaking, shadows speaking, with a kaleidoscope pattern ever changing, rearranging, silhouettes and sunlight, with shadowy splotches and bright blotches, clouds drifting, ever lifting, swirling and billowing, a rain drop pattering, dust scattering, minnows shoaling, thunder rolling, water on water ripples making, the heavens quaking, cloud bottoms breaking, a deluge falling, wind's squalling, in crescendo, rapid tempo, then diminuendo, rivulets forming, joining and swarming, water flowing, its noise growing, downward to the pond, all baptized, revitalized, washed and cleaned, now redeemed, a new birth, all are one, a coda under a Lazarus sun © 2023 Soren |
