Fire

Fire

A Poem by Soren

From the beginning we have learned
the power of flames in their conflagration
We stand back from the blaze of hatred to not be burned
Yet in passion's inferno we baptize ourselves, in self immolation

One person's fire is another person's flame. The flames of hate often can withstand any attempt to put them out and are feared over being forgiven. The flames of passion burn as well but harbor little fear and are often forgiven quickly. Though it is in the middle where the heat is the most intense.

Thanks Will for the read and insightful words.
It annihilates everything in its path, taking residency in our bellies. An element of nature we undeniably feed.

My pleasure!
Fire, is a beautiful, but dangerous element. You should tread with a little caution with all the elements, as they can all get dangerous, but they are unlike fire, because it is always dangerous.
I suppose so are all fire signs, not that they can't be cool, or that they are bad or evil in any way, but they're temperment is slightly different than the other signs and slightly more explosive. Good and solid piece of writing here.

Sure, water can be dangerous, think of Tsunamis, Earth mudslides, and of course Air Hurricanes.
Fire has a primordial relationship with the human soul. It burns within us incessantly and becomes hate sometimes and passion at others. One must be careful how close we get to it. Sometimes, recklessness leads to utter destruction. I'm trying to maintain a safe distance nowadays. Another gem from your pen, dear Soren. Loved thinking on it, appreciating the word choice, the message.

A word to juggle in meaning and intensity, Soren. Great use of language here, inspiring the reader to think more, to feel the balance of use, its pendulum and more. Finely laid words, thank you so sharing them.

Thank you so much for the read and insightful comments they are deeply appreciated.
We let the world burn around us, the conflicts, the wars, the flames of hate, yet we sacrifice ourselves in baptism...very deep thoughts here; and we don't understand the consequences we face.
Very deep and meaningful...

A very strong, thoughtful, and powerful message needed in these times. To stand silent and accepting as the world burns around us is to be culpable towards our own destruction. Excellent work my friend.

Thank you Carlos just another of those periodic thoughts. Thanks so much for the review
How true, we welcome the fires of passion and get consumed in the heat of the flames, and out of the ashes we rise to repeat it all over again. Love over hatred, a lesson many still need to learn. Thoughtful brevity Soren. Much admired lines.
