A storm upon the sea

A storm upon the sea

A Poem by Soren

Far alee from thunderous crowds

On raging sea, adrift and afloat

So far to swim, sails now shrouds

Desperation seeps into a leaking boat

Wailing, shreeking, crashing so loud

My very mast a bolt has smote

Hope glimpses through, a breach in the clouds

But in dark tempest, the devil does gloat

To my maker, my head now bowed

Waves so high, land so remote

Planted in this deep, now ploughed

Burried alive, water floods my throat

Resurrected from dreams, I awoke endowed

With new life, gratitude to devote

A stormy nightmare ending in awakening and gratitude to God. You glimpsed hope from the dark tempest.
Marvelously written.

You are welcome sir Soren.
Does sound like a nightmarish dream to me though you final lines make it seem that a lesson was taken from it. This moved nicely, almost rocking like the sea, very rhythmic.

Now that’s what you call a nightmare with all its fear and dark imagery. On the point of dying, you wake up. I have been there Soren and the relief is immense. Relatable words. Thank you for sharing.
