Thank you so much for your review and most kind words
I think these are the feelings that one feels in a state of apathy. Sadly, our world feels like this now. People feel like they are being worked to death, working to pay bills, paying bills to live, struggling to survive. People are making more than ever but are still struggling to make ends meet due to the high inflation. We pay more for less, and the quality of everything seems second rate. I feel every word of this poem.

Thank you so much for your read and insightful comments.
Sadly a sign of the times with the ever increasing wokeness creeping into our daily living to rewrite history, ban language. erode freedom of speech and cancel people with opposing views. It is insidious and it stinks. I will continue to call it out for what it is. A topical write Soren.

Thank you for the review and comments Chris. Yes it is insidious.
I am wondering which totalitarian state you live in. Has the sound of the Third Reich.

I will say it certainly feels this way and it seems to get worse every day. I believe our freedoms lessen with every passing day. And it won't stop until your poem is exactly the way it is. It is not this bad yet but it sure feels like it is getting there. I feel bad for the younger generation and their kids. Very deep my friend.

Yes it's a seductive loss, freedom for comfort and as for telling us when to die, the insurence companies or health care do this by deciding what they will pay for.
You make a strong point, Soren, and your piece is well and powerfully written. However (yes, I have a "however":), I can't help but think that if you lived in say North Korea or Iran, you might very well be on your way to a prison or a labor camp for writing this. So, yes, we are manipulated in so many ways, as you've aptly put it, but thankfully we still have the freedom to express it :)

I value what little freedom I have or at least the illusion of freedom and don't discredit that I live in places that are among the more free in the world but this does not mean they are as they should be either. Always strive for better I say.
This poem is a very compelling statement on how we are manipulated and controlled and to what terrifying extent by the glitterati, the powers that be. The way you wrote it makes for a very damning picture of the world as it is now and moves the reader to feel the rage at the ridiculousness and unfairness of it all. Kudos Soren!
