Earth, Air, Fire

Earth, Air, Fire

A Poem by Soren

Earth fertility

Maternal virility

Good stability

Air is everywhere

Of its presence unaware

Without, no life there

A spark ignited

The land all charred and blighted

Nature united

Author's Note

Soren
In these symbols there is the formula for circular dependence, earth produces what is to be burned, without its production there can be no fire, air is required for combustion, fire produces ash that fertilizes the earth. It's combustion converts oxygen to carbon dioxide necessary for plant growth.

...let's hope nature doesn't unite to expel our species from the planet, although she has every right to :)
So much to think about packed into so few well-written lines!

Good point!
Earth, fire, air and water are all interrelated and operate in tandem. The concluding verse sums up beautifully how Nature views destruction - as a part and parcel of its rhythms. A very thought provoking poem with applicability to all situations in life on earth. Well written!

You're welcome dear Soren. Always such thoughtful poetry from you.
Very cool and very true. The earth creates what it needs to survive. It is its own protector and does seem to have an answer for everything man might throw at it. It doesn't mean we shouldn't do our part to help it work things out but it does a pretty good job on its own, I think.

These three little stanzas are really thought provoking and I paused to read them several times. In this brevity you cover a magnitude of activity. And then I thought of the human species and my heart dropped a little. We do not care for our planet. Nicely done Soren.
