In rust and dust we must trust

In rust and dust we must trust

A Poem by Soren

Though the luster’s gone

We carry on

Author's Note

Soren
I thought of a poem that was as short as its title. Although not as short as the poem Fleas “Adam had em” it is still probably my shortest. Here the title is integral to the poem itself and goes deeper than the surface

I read your author's note and I think you did a great justice to minimalism and the integral, working title does just what you wanted .. at least for me. The wheel turns. It is inevitable ... I try my best to keep moving as long and as much as I can ... putting off the rusting until I am in the ground .. then let it be my container that rusts. ;) Very much enjoyed your poem and the inspiring thought beneath it.

As an elderly man near those twilight years I can empathize with these words. Very identifiable and a bit of bittersweet melancholy. I like this poem a lot. CLE

Thanks JD for the review
That is certainly true for me, I just wonder how long I will carry on (though I am a wayward son, so there is that)

life seems endless and so exciting when we are young...but as our body rusts and our mind gathers dust, we simply keep existing, somehow.

Thank you Jacob for the review and comment. Yes you are so right age takes its toll.
I pondered on this piece of profound brevity and found myself agreeing. The shine can certainly be taken from life at times. Often we are left with the rust or even worse the dust. You could say this is a cradle to grave poem. Loved it Soren.
