Fear

Fear

A Poem by Soren

Fear hangs like a drop

Not knowing where it might stop

Hanging, growing, clinging

Increased anxiety bringing

It stretches and threatens to fall

Muscles tighten skin starts to crawl

I hide my eyes not wanting to know

The reality I dread, but don't want to be so

I hide my eyes not wanting to know

You took me back in time to when I was five and I had nightmares about mickey mouse. Even when I woke up, I could still see his image grinning at me on the bedroom wall. He terrified me. I was so fearful I couldn't even scream for my Dad. I am smiling now at what I was once so afraid of. That's where your poem took me Soren. All those years in the past :)
