Tree

If I were ever asked what a friend should be

I think that I would say a tree

Whether the weather is foul or fair

You know that a tree will always be there

It will shade you from the summer heat

When hungry, it will give you something to eat

It filters your water and gives you air to breathe

It seeds the clouds, carbon from the atmosphere it does retrieve

It gives you shelter and medicine

It never asks where you have been

It doesn't speak or argue

It will never be rude or hurt you

Winter, spring, summer or fall

In return for what it gives it asks nothing at all

I absolutely love this piece! The ideology of this piece does in a way speaks to the relationship between the trees and people. I also wrote a poem about a tree, reading yours has me thinking about posting mines😊 Very beautiful write

Most would say dogs are the most faithful friend. But the tree, well that in its manageable state, say a bonsai or an orchard tree, that is equally suited! Thanks Soren for this beautiful poem.

You had me at it doesn't speak or argue and sewed it up with, it doesn't ask where you have been. The property I live on I bought because of the trees that were on it. I love trees and nature. You are corrected, they make great friends.
