Will You Remember Me?

Will You Remember Me?

A Poem by Kristen H

Will you still remember me in 10 years?

When your children ask about your first kiss

Will you tell them the whole story?

How we were dancing and you pulled me close?

Or will you be vague

And say I was a girl you dated for a few months

Before breaking up with her after you grew tired of her.

I know when my children ask about my first love,

I’ll tell them everything I remember.

From our first meeting all the way to the breakup.

I’ll tell them about our performance at the talent show.

Our trip to Hartford with all of our friends.

I’ll tell them whatever they want to know.

Maybe girls remember and cherish detail more.

But promise me one thing.

Tell them the story in its entirety.

The memories of love. I believe effect men the same as women.
"Maybe girls remember and cherish detail more."
Love that was sweet burn the heart and mind forever. I like the honest tone leading to the very good closing. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
