Eclipse

I was the day.

My golden hair shining like rays of light,

As we walked beside one another, hand in hand.

My smile beaming,

As you pulled me onto your lap and held me tight.

My fair skin glowing,

As I wrapped my arms around you.

You were the night.

Your blue eyes sparkling like the stars,

As we lay there intertwined.

Your words so dark and peaceful,

As you sang softly in my ear.

Your touch cool like the night breeze,

As you traced my jawline with your fingertips.

I was the day and you were the night.

Together we were an eclipse. 

Yet eclipses only last seven and a half minutes.
