~Chasing the Mirage

~Chasing the Mirage

A Poem by Sophy Freebirds
"

Drunken frenzy of maenad's ecstacy

"
Lost grain of sanity flows away,
Forming a pall of dusty atoms which sway...
Twirling around my naked soul,

Footsteps imprinted on the transient sands,
Milky rays chill me to my very bones.
Tameless winds ruins my
Poised hair strands...

In drunken frenzy of maenad's ecstacy,
I break into a wild run...
Pursuing my mirage of fantasy.

I run..... ohh.....i run
Till my feet turns sore...
Whips of life have battered
Me to my very core!
Grovelling in the sandy pool...
My dry tongue licks the red fluid...

it sure is dark but that's my favourite type of poem, there's lots to find in here, the first stanza is gorgeous, such floating on a wind of beauty, the final lines throw you into despair at the sadness of finding your mirage that is probably a pool of your own blood, brilliant writing Sophy :)

Courage at times is greatly misunderstood, I think people associate courage with heroic. I reckon it has to do with the lazyness and pityful sense and illusion, as if someone will come and change your life for you in a 1, 2 &3. Don't get me wrong it sounds appealing. How about if then courage is to accept the darkest innermost realms and admit that through the journey through this chorridors of chameleons one actually might re - shape something that was ugly into something with contained beauty? This writing let's me know of an intimate journey, not an easy one, not one that we would say "yes please" more. But as for the effort put in that one can obviously take from the confessional stand of the writing.

It will not be in vain.

Thankyou

It may be dark but the wonderful impact is the same. It's a beautifully flowing poem making for an easy read which you can lose yourself in. The depth of this poem is kind of astonishing because, though it isn't a very long poem, you really feel like you lose yourself in the words and the imagery.

I really enjoyed this. you write brilliantly.

Wow! This is really a deep poem having some special poetic quality such as ..nice description of natutal beauty.

Lost grain of sanity flows away,
Forming a pall of dusty atoms which sway...
Twirling around my naked soul,

The poetess wants to satify her search for something great but fails to celebrate. Her efforts become futile being "dusty atoms" flying with a mirage.

Footsteps imprinted on the transient sands,
Milky rays chill me to my very bones.
Tameless winds ruins my
Poised hair strands...

The above expression lets us know the pangs she suffers in the process of satisfying her soul..."tameless winds....."

In drunken frenzy of maenad's ecstacy,
I break into a wild run...
Pursuing my mirage of fantasy.

But sudden the mirage gets its frenzy on her helplessness in the run of salvation...

I run..... ohh.....i run
Till my feet turns sore...
Whips of life have battered
Me to my very core!
Grovelling in the sandy pool...
My dry tongue licks the red fluid...

This is the heights of menia of hopelessness that break into an controlled passion for getting her desired goal.
Really the has so many deep points that make us feel the useless efforts we make to get something....Hope this will satisfy your vertual need. Please do read some more of my poems and provide your views regarding it. Thanking you...
