~Beckoning Cliff

~Beckoning Cliff

A Poem by Sophy Freebirds
"

Allure of thoughts,mind's freefall

"
Standing in the lofty heights,
Of overflowing thoughts..
The alluring cliff beckons at me
To leap,with a savage urge!!

Giving in to the wild Me;
I dive into intellectual depths...
Bidding Au revoir to pragmatic self.

Weightless words....
Freefalling flairs....
I await the rock hard bottom
Of insufferable crags.....

Greeted by my mattress of contented clouds...
Lulling me to a peaceful slumber, sans doubt...

My winged perceptions fly in this realm of majestic profundity....
Seeing this my fervent soul smiles with immense alacrity...

I again really enjoyed this poem. There is nothing I find solace in more than to dive into the ocean of my mind and just swim to the depths. For there is so much that the mind holds, we just have to have the right gear to search below the service. When we search hard enough and long enough, we really find hidden treasures that were always there, we just needed to salvage by the crane of peace and quiet. On the other hand, there are times when we have everything that we need, and we search and search, and there is just nothing to be found, where we are searching. No treasurable thoughts come up from below and we are left frustrated for the lack of new treasures. Sorry about the long review, this really is intriqueing what you have written and I just had inspiration to also give my own perspective of how I look at diving into our intellectual thoughts. Thanks for sharing, this was truelly a great writing.

Of course, my fellow old soul
Sophy this makes the free fall sound seductive, indeed sensual. Great use of pace and descriptive phrasiology!

Was originally wondering if it was a tribute to "Summer Holiday" and Sir Cliff lol!

Hah!! Smart cookie! ;p
Your articularity is profond. I have a fondness for words also. Though it is not your words that speak to me. It is how dive into intellectual depths and bring back another part of life we, your audience, have yet to enjoy the spark of. May your profundity know no bounds and your alacrity to life be met with equal accord in all you endeavor.

Thank you so much for your heartfelt wishes.. i will surely try to live up to it :)
It was just a bad dream, though at the time it does seem so real !

Creatively penned, the subconscious mind is a powerful entity and indeed an enigma still not wholly understood my the intellects of the modern day !

Yea Tom.. science doesn't accept it. Thank you for your insightful review :)
this reminds me of the poem, "mind" by richard wilbur...."the mind in its purest play is like some bat / flying in a cave"
taking those leaps...a good thing...because a freefall of the mind will never hurt us...and as wilbur said "a graceful error may correct the cave"

i really like this write and what it stands for...at least for me.

Indeed. We fly to fall,we fall to fly to our thoughts.. thank you so much. Glad you liked it :)
I did some Air assault in the Army. Good to free-fall without fear. Falling from the sky or riding the Winter storms of the Pacific.
"Greeted by my mattress of contented clouds...
Lulling me to a peaceful slumber, sans doubt... "
The poem made the leap more interesting. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

That sounds exciting. I envy you :) thank you so much.
Diving into the clouds...what a great thought. When you jump, they are there to catch you. When you know it is time for a change, you dive into those clouds and you do so without any worry....for you know you are doing the right thing. What an empowering poem this is, Sophy. I liked it a lot. Lydi**

If there's coffee where I land, I'l be happy, my pleasure suga Sophy! :)
Thoughts, that climb upon a cliff that high, are independent, and highly rich, in a state of mind.

You try to write here, with out of a body experience it seems to me, very captivating and intriguing.

I love the way how you juggle with words, and sentiments, to make a rebirth possible... a new you, a new day, a new beginning. ;) Wonderful writing dear dear friend ... sometimes the cliff edge beckons...
