~Pearl~The OracleA Poem by Sophy FreebirdsAn oyster needs to be wounded to produce a pearl
In the rock hard bottom,
Of the deep dark ocean.... Where the golden twinge Of the sun filters through, The aquamarine hue... With your calcareous shell wide open, As the invited enemy enters within.. Suffering the groaning agony, Your walls shake with abject cacophony... Covering me with strata of traits; Birthing me through the labour pain... Unlike gemstones being mined And polished to sparkling beauty.. I emanate shiny iridescence, Which is my inborn quality... I ain't the tear of goddess Aphrodite; Nor dewdrops filled with moonlight... But through the strain, I have not gone in vain. Refining fire has honed, Passing test of Lydian stone. Like a wise oracle, Standing in life's pinnacle... Going through the transition From an afflicted PEARL To be a SOPHY- enlightened one.. © 2014 Sophy FreebirdsAuthor's Note
